My Dad was there approx 3 weeks. He was transferred from the Baptist Hosp. My stepmother was also transferred there. Dad has advanced dementia. My dad had fallen and she tried to catch him. On their first day there they had visitors from church and two relatives. They were there when they were served lunch. That evening my stepmother put my Dads dentures in a starfoam cup with some water. The next morning the cup was gone.Long story made short...they never found hid dentures. I, the son, contacted the case worker, Sophia. She referred me to so called quality management Ms. Clements. She said she investigated it and she told me he never had dentures. I told her I have witnesses and she still said it was never documented that he even had dentures. They are responsible and refuse to do the right thing....my dad is home now. Has home since 29 September....he has no teeth to eat..his new dentures will cost up to $500.00. This place is absolutely pathetic not to take responsibility and help my dad get new dentures. I'm considering litigation
My mother was admitted to this facility for wound care. She went in on Tuesday, July 21 at 10 am. She was not evaluated until Wednesday, nor was the dressing changed until Wednesday. When I went to see her, the dressing on her leg was tattered, dirty, and falling off. The wound care specialist was changing the dressing when my brother and uncle stopped in on Wednesday, and she told them that the dressing should be changed daily. I got a call from my mom today, Friday, July 24th, to tell me that her dressing had not been changed since Wednesday, and she informed the nurses yesterday that 1 of the bandages, the one on her hand over an open wound, had become soiled with urine. The dressing was not changed, and she was left for 24 hours with a urine soaked bandage on her hand. Jackie, the lead nurse, was very apologetic about it, and promised that it will not happen again, but this does not change the fact that my mothers health was put at risk at this facility. I hope and pray that this never does happen again, but my mother will not go back to that facility. We are looking at other rehabs, while we discuss our options with her doctors.
My roommate had a stroke about 3 weeks ago and has been here since she was released from the hospital. She has received EXCELLENT care! I am so grateful to all of the staff: the techs who always came in with a cheerful attitude to help her, the nurses who were quick to respond with her medication when needed, ALL of the knowledgeable therapists who worked with her and encouraged her to work hard so she could improve her function and be ready for home, and the doctors who took charge of her care. Also, her case manager who was very accessible and open to listen to any and all concerns she had about her care. No one likes to be in a hospital at all, not to mention several weeks, but they all helped her take it in stride for the most part. She will be going home soon, and cannot wait. But if not for the team here, it would've been a much harder battle. Thank you.
I am so happy and want to thank all the staff their.
Excellent care. Phyllis and Matt are awesome.
